Dadua Tidard

Dadua Tidard belongs to the threshold where water loosens its hold and a creature discovers that the shore was never beyond its becoming.

Another Way to Breathe

The tadpole begins beneath the surface, drawing oxygen through gills. Through metamorphosis, lungs develop, limbs emerge, and a frog enters life between water and land, breathing through lungs and skin. What once seemed a world becomes one part of an expanding existence.

We are slower to forgive our changes. We cling to roles that once sheltered us, to ways of loving that no longer let us breathe. An ending can feel like betrayal when we have mistaken familiarity for the limits of our being. Yet the pond has not failed because a life reaches its bank.

What sustained us need not contain us forever. There is courage in the conversation spoken differently, in grief becoming tenderness, in discovering that the person we were has carried us far enough. Transformation does not make the beginning meaningless. It reveals what the beginning was preparing.

Dadua Tidard holds this passage without triumph over the water. Beside a window, it invites another measure of strength: not how we remain unchanged, but how we inhabit the life asking to emerge.
