Uoioks Kadif was born from the goblin — that ancient, misshapen creature who haunted the margins of medieval maps and the nightmares of a world that did not yet understand what it feared.

In 13th-century Europe, cartographers filled the unknown edges of their maps with creatures — grotesque, fanged, hunched. The goblin was among them. It appeared in the folklore of the Germanic tribes, in the cautionary tales of English villages, in the illuminated manuscripts of monks who drew what they could not name. The creature was never just a monster. It was a mirror. Every culture that conjured it was really drawing a portrait of its own unspoken dread — of the dark, of the stranger, of the self it refused to examine.

By the 15th century, goblins had become the scapegoats of entire communities. When crops failed, when children fell ill, when love turned cold — the goblin was blamed. It was easier to name a monster than to sit with uncertainty.
