Long before the Lunzin Vaka took form, there were two creatures who called the same reef home.

One was a ribbon of sea algae — soft, luminous, and endlessly curious. She drifted with the current. The other was a small crustacean — quiet, deliberate, and deeply loyal. He moved slowly, but he moved with purpose.

When storms came and the reef shook, the algae would wrap herself around the crustacean's shell — not to hold him back, but to remind him he was not alone.
