Indsab Vejaba

Indsab Vejaba imagines a wedding of souls, where two shadows meet without either losing its outline.

The Space Between Two Pillars

In Plato's Symposium, a tale speaks of divided beings longing for reunion. Yet perhaps the deepest bond is not a return to some vanished wholeness. Perhaps it begins when two people arrive whole enough to leave space between them.

Imagine their wedding beside a courtyard. No thunder announces it. A clay lamp burns; bread waits on the table. They have watched each other through seasons, through work and evenings when words come slowly. Neither mistakes the flicker for the flame.

The olive takes years to bear. Its roots do not hurry because another tree flowers sooner.

There is a wisdom in what they leave unchosen: the dazzling promise with no shelter inside, the quarrel that asks to be mistaken for devotion. Their hands meet without becoming fists around one another's future.

Indsab Vejaba holds this ceremony: two lives turning toward a horizon, neither disappearing into it. The sacred enters, through a cup filled twice, a door held open, a decision renewed when nobody is watching.
